Ability, if any: Has a tendency to hibernate for a small period of time in winter. He just holes up in his house and sleeps.
Status: Sam doesn’t really care who knows who he is and who doesn’t. Of course he’s new to New York, so unless they know him, they might not know who he is. If someone asks him though, he’d be happy to tell them.
History: Sam was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1971, the middle child with an older sister and a younger brother. The Hayes' was an average status family, a bit on the hippy side in the 70s but making ends meet. His mother and father both worked, his mother working on several charities, and running other organizations while his father worked for the University as a professor. Growing up, Sam was an average kid, he liked pulling girls' hair and hanging out with the other boys as much as anyone else though through his life, he had a couple of dreams in which he was a large bear, sometimes chasing around a dwarf and other times lying by the fire but he didn’t really know what it meant.
He started getting other dreams, this time of other lives he had lived. The knowledge of him being a Tale didn’t come until he was 21. They came to the college, gave him his Compendium and told him he was the Bear Prince from Snow White and Red Rose. After college though, Sam wanted to go to MIT and at MIT he decided to become a computer programmer, specializing more in computer and video games and design then anything else. He was very good at what he did, and got a job straight out of graduating from MIT. For a while he lived in Massachusetts, working at a big name gaming company. Since then he’s basically been working, until very recently when they told him that he was being transferred to their New York division to head up a special project. He’s packed up all of his things and has currently moved into a nice neighborhood that he can afford.
Personality: Sam’s a pretty nice guy for the most part; he’s been told he’s too nice by some people, though not without warning. When he’s pushed, or backed into a corner, he lashes out a bit like his Bear Prince counterpart, though like him he’s extremely loyal. When he’s friends with someone, he’s friends with them no matter what they do, especially when they’re kind to him, they’re kind to them in return. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a temper sometimes, especially when he’s feeling very overwhelmed.
One of the biggest things he wants to do is find the Dwarf because he thinks that it’s highly amusing that the Dwarf is out there somewhere, and they’re supposed to be huge rivals when he’s never seen or met this person at all. It will be interesting to see if the Dwarf can push him past his breaking point. He’s a very intelligent guy, and he’s got a very good imagination to come up with the things he does, and has a definite eye for spatial relations which makes him the best at three dimensional first person types of games.
A little on the laid back side, it takes a bit to ruffle his feathers, and he’s very playful this time around instead of overbearing and kind of grumpy like the Bear Prince.

What's the relationship between your character and their tale?
Sam is like the Bear Prince in the way that he’s very loyal to the people who are loyal to him. He’s always helping out his parents, going back to see them in Virginia and has a very good relationship with them, like how the Bear Prince feels the need to go each summer and protect his treasure from the Dwarf. Though he feels affection for people, he’s almost like a loose cannon, and no one knows when he’ll go off, since he’s got a bit of a temper that doesn’t seem to have diminished from his previous lives. And though he’s gotten a bit less bear like, when it comes time for winter, he’s very secure in spending most of his time curled up in bed asleep. He can’t help it, it just makes him sleepy.
